The problem with Shaders
Shader and Ray Tracing Limitations in BedrockConnect
Due to technical constraints and the specific nature of graphics processing in Minecraft, Shader Resource Packs and Ray Tracing are not supported on consoles. Special resource packs designed to enable Ray Tracing on the Bedrock Edition for PCs cannot be implemented through BedrockConnect on consoles.â
Since the update to version 1.18.30, traditional shaders have been removed from the Bedrock Edition, preventing their use on consoles. The introduction of the RenderDragon graphics engine has significantly altered graphics processing. Consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox do not permit the activation of advanced graphics settings required for shaders or Ray Tracing. â
However, standard Resource Packs that do not utilize specific graphic enhancements like shaders or Ray Tracing continue to function on consoles through BedrockConnect. This limitation applies exclusively to advanced graphical adjustments. Resource Packs used to change textures and appearances in the game remain accessible and usable for console users via BedrockConnect.â
