App messages

This page lists the messages BedrockConnect can show you — what each one means and what you can do about it. Use your browser's search (or the search box at the top) to jump to the message you see.

"Support reference"

Some error messages show a line like "Support reference: …" at the bottom. If you ask for help on Discord, send us a screenshot of the message including that line.

Server status on the server list

Every server tile shows a small status. The phone checks it again every 15 seconds.

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
Checking…The app is asking the server for its status.Wait a few seconds.
A people icon with a number (for example 12)The server answered. It's online, and this many players are on it. (Screen readers say "12 players online".)Nothing — you can start it.
OfflineThe server didn't answer. It may be down, or it only supports an old way of connecting that consoles can't use anymore.Try again later. You can still tap Start, but if the server is really down you won't get in. For your own server, check the address and port.
Status unavailableThe app couldn't check the server — for example the address doesn't exist or your phone's internet had a problem.Check your internet. For a custom server, check the Server IP Address for typos.
No servers available (with a Retry button)The Partner or Featured list couldn't be loaded.Check your internet and tap Retry.

Starting and running a server

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
Starting..., Preparing texture packs..., Loading protocol..., Connecting to server...The app is getting the server ready.Wait until the button turns into Stop.
Where to Find the Server — "The server appears as a LAN World in your Minecraft Worlds tab."The server is running. On your console, open Minecraft → Worlds tab and join the LAN world. Tap Don't show again to hide this tip.
Keep the app open until you're in the worldYour console found the server and is joining. If you leave the app now, the server stops and your console won't get in.Keep BedrockConnect open on your phone until you're in the server's world. After that you can close it.
Another server is starting... / … is runningYou can only run one server at a time.Stop the other server first.
Stopping... / Still stopping. You can ask again. The app is stopping the server, and it's taking longer than normal.Wait a moment, or tap Stop again.
"The last server could not be confirmed as stopped, so a new one cannot be started. Stop it first."The app isn't sure the last server really stopped.Tap Stop on that server first. If it keeps happening, close and reopen the app.
Free users: the server stops by itself

Without Premium, the server stops on its own shortly after your console has joined (at the latest after about 2 minutes). That's normal — you stay on the server. With Premium the server keeps running until you tap Stop or leave the app.

Problems when starting a server

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
Local network access needed (iPhone/iPad)BedrockConnect isn't allowed to use your local network, so your console can't see the server.Tap Open Settings and turn on Local Network. You can also go to the Settings tab → Community & Support → Local Network permission.
Port already in useAnother app is using the port BedrockConnect needs.Close apps like Lunar Client or BedrockTogether and try again. If it still doesn't work, restart your phone.
Protocol Load FailedThe app couldn't download the part it needs to talk to Minecraft.Check your internet and try again in a moment.
Server Start Failed / Server Stop FailedStarting or stopping didn't work.Try again. If it keeps happening, restart your phone and send us your connection log.
Something went wrongSomething unexpected happened. We are told about these automatically.Try again. If it keeps happening, ask on Discord.
Errors on the console

If your console shows an error (like "Door", "Terracotta", "Unable to connect to world" or Xbox staying on "Locating server"), the app doesn't show a message — it keeps showing Stop. Make sure the Connection helper is on, then see Troubleshooting. Support can find the reason in your connection log.

Update screens

ScreenWhat it meansWhat to do
Update Required — "A new version of the app is available. Please update to continue using BedrockConnect."A newer version is in the App Store or Google Play. You need to update before you can keep using the app.Tap Update Now and install the update.
Reinstall Required (Android) — "This copy of BedrockConnect is missing parts it needs to run."Your copy of the app is incomplete (for example it wasn't installed from Google Play).Tap Open Google Play first, so you know where to find the app. Then uninstall BedrockConnect and install it again from Google Play.
Reinstalling deletes your custom servers

Your custom servers and imported texture packs are only saved on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Premium is not lost: after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchases in the Settings tab.

Security checks (texture packs and Premium)

To protect Premium features, the app checks that it's a real, unchanged copy from the App Store or Google Play. Joining servers is never blocked by this.

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
Try Again Later — "This feature isn't available right now. Try again in a few minutes. Code: ATT-…"The check couldn't finish in time — for example your internet was slow or our servers were busy.Wait a few minutes and try again.
Not Available — "This feature isn't available in this copy of the app. Code: ATT-…"This copy of the app didn't pass the check — for example it's a modified or unofficial copy, or the device failed Google's or Apple's security check.Install BedrockConnect from the official App Store or Google Play. If it still happens, send the code to support on Discord.
Too Many Devices — "Your subscription is already in use on too many devices."Your Premium subscription is being used on too many phones or tablets.Use it on fewer devices and try again later.

On Android, Google may also show a window asking you to update Google Play or Google Play services. Do it — the check needs them.
