UI Add-On Troubleshooting Guide
BedrockConnect now supports UI add-ons, providing enhanced customization options. In addition to previously supported directories (textures/
, font/
, sounds/
, particles/
, texts/
), the following additional folders and files are now supported for modified UI experiences:
ui/
render_controllers/
fogs/
entity/
attachables/
animations/
animation_controllers/
sounds.json
blocks.json
biomes_client.json
and more!
Important Considerations and Risks
While these expanded customization options allow for greater personalization, they also come with potential challenges:
Potential Conflicts
Servers with poorly implemented UI modifications or those using identical files and functions as other resource packs can experience significant disruptions, negatively affecting gameplay.
Compatibility Issues
Using multiple UI resource packs simultaneously may lead to conflicts, limiting or disabling their functionality.
Risk of Crashes and Performance Drops
Resource packs containing shaders or special fog effects significantly increase the risk of crashes, especially on consoles. Nintendo Switch players may experience severe performance drops (FPS issues).
Example of Known Issues
Resource packs such as "Action and Stuff" cause issues because Minecraft cannot fully load them as server packs. Such packs are skipped, leading to major display and functional errors in-game. This issue is particularly common with large resource packs.
Support Advisory
Please note that no official support is provided for issues caused by the use of modified UI packs. Users have the following options:
Continue using the modified packs, accepting the mentioned risks.
Disable the packs to ensure a stable and optimal gaming experience.
Switch to alternative resource packs without UI modifications, which are more compatible with BedrockConnect.
Our explicit recommendation is to use regular resource packs without UI modifications.
Official Server Pack Notice
Servers using the official BedrockConnect server pack are not affected by potential conflicts, thus offering the best user experience.
We continuously work to improve BedrockConnect and appreciate your feedback.
