Current Issue with Encrypted Resource Packs

The problem has been fixed with the BedrockConnect update since 30.10.24 for supported servers.

Overview

For players who use BedrockConnect without the app or attempt to connect to servers outside our supported list (e.g., when the Packgrabber downloads the server pack or when the pack is manually added in the app), there is a known issue with encrypted resource packs. When downloading these encrypted packs, the following error message may appear:

"You are unable to join the world because you have the following incompatible packs: SERVER XYZ"

This issue particularly affects servers that utilize encrypted resource packs. Servers that use unencrypted packs do not trigger this error message.

Background

This restriction may indicate that Mojang is taking targeted measures to limit tools like BedrockConnect, especially concerning the handling of encrypted resource packs. Players who do not use the app or manually add unsupported servers are especially affected by this issue and may frequently encounter the incompatible pack error messages.

Users of the older serverpacks method

Unfortunately, users of the older serverpacks method can no longer use it, as encrypted packs now require a new approach. For security reasons, we are unable to publicly disclose the details of this new method.

Temporary Solution (With BedrockConnect for Premium-User)

There is a workaround to avoid the problem.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Join a local server: First, join a local server with your desired resource pack.

1. Download the resource pack: Download the resource pack from the local server.

1. Confirm the error message: You will see the error:

"You are unable to join the world because you have the following incompatible packs: SERVER XYZ."

1. Disable all resource packs: Go into BedrockConnect and disable all your resource packs.

1. Start the server again: Start the server in the BedrockConnect app.

1. Join the local server again: Join the local server once more. After that, you should be redirected to your desired server with your selected resource pack.
